Setting up a Netscape browser to use Webcosm

If you are using a Netscape web-browser you will have to do the following to get Webcosm to work:

  1. Select Options|Network Preferences
  2. Go to the page labelled 'Proxies'
  3. Select manual proxy configuration, then press the 'view' button
  4. In the 'HTTP Proxy' section put 'proxy.webcosm.com' (without the quotes)
  5. Set the corresponding port to '6997'
  6. Click OK on both of the dialogs

Setting up a Microsoft Explorer browser to use Webcosm

If you are using a Microsoft web-browser you will have to do the following to get Webcosm to work:

  1. Select View|Options
  2. Choose the page labelled 'Connection'
  3. Click the checkbox 'Connect through proxy'
  4. Press the 'Settings' button
  5. Set the HTTP host to 'proxy.webcosm.com'
  6. Set the HTTP port to 6997
  7. Click OK to get out of the dialogs
